DBS – Dried Blood Spot Puncher
A solution commonly used in hospitals for cutting machines used for the analysis of a dry blood drop. A movable table with two 96-well plates, controlled automatically by computer software. By pressing the table, the operator cuts out a disc of paper that falls into the selected well. The design of the device ensures convenient and quick sample preparation.
Available punch diameters: 1.6 – 6 mm
Maximum height of 96-well plates: 42.5 mm
Available option of detecting the occupancy of the well for discs with a diameter of min. 3.5 mm
It is possible to cut out discs with blood, but also with other matrices such as saliva or urine. The device has its own control program installed on a PC, but integration with LIMS systems is also possible. DBS can also work with barcode scanners.
